Derrick ‘09

I met my neighbor Derrick at the park on a cold windy day for his senior pictures. He asked me if he would have to do any“acting”….you know like “Do I have to act like you’re not here or act like I’m laughing?”

I think he did such a good job just being himself….

Derrick, thanks for spending the afternoon freezing for these pictures, and Congratulations!

weekend.

On Saturday I woke up early to do the Race for the cure. This year, they added a new race, “Bark for the Cure”. I think next time, Henry and Oscar may join me for this early morning walk. The dogs were gorgeous!

We joined the Thompson Team again this year, but took an accidental detour with Audrie and Rachel. That meant that we got to go to all the free stuff early… something I enjoy thoroughly.

After the race, I joined Nathan’s family at Warren’s place for his son’s 11th birthday party. Warren lives on this great old Christmas tree farm.

Goofy, goofy boys.

Sunday was just as busy with an engagement shoot for me where I walked all over Fayetteville with a lovely bride and groom. While I was gone, my family  worked with the neighbors to clean up around here, and Nathan and Emma built a box for our garden.  We’re all sore and sleepy today…. signs of a good weekend!

baby Green

A few weekends ago, Saprina met up with me for a quick maternity session. It’s a good thing we did this when we did because her sweet little boy decided to come a little early.

Saprina, thank you for taking time out of your day to help me get some new maternity shots for the site. I can’t wait to meet your baby and spend some time with you again!

Brett

Last month, our friend Melanie and her husband welcomed this little man into their lives. He’s more than precious, and I loved every minute I got to spend taking his pictures.

I love how content he looks in these next pictures with Melanie.

Mel, you are doing such a great job, and I can’t wait to spend more time with you and this sweet guy!

belated belly.

It seems like I took these pictures of my friend Carla forever ago. Her sweet baby is here now, and I can’t wait to meet her!

Carla, you are so beautiful, and I can’t wait to see you and your new family soon!

phebe

In March, I joined Phebe and her entourage at the park for some senior pictures.

Her friends kept her laughing and feeling silly.

For our second location, we parked on the side of the road and made the treacherous journey to this old cooling cellar.

Phebe, you are a beauty! Thanks for a fun afternoon.

Cole is 1!

On a beautiful day in March, I met up with Cole and his mom and dad for his 1 year pictures. Cole is such a great boy. I loved chasing him around. We’re surely buddies because Cole shared his snack with me and hung out on my side of the camera for a bit just to check out what I was up to.

Jenny, you really do have such a beautiful family. Cole is so perfect. I really can’t wait until next time!

April so far.

Last Sunday, we celebrated Nathan’s and his mom’s birthday with a surprise big breakfast for her. (photo by Jamie.)

Later that day, Nathan made his favorite smoked bacon explosion, and I made some of his favorite sides for dinner. The kids helped with his birthday cake, and then they  put his gifts in a bag they thought would be pretty funny.

This weekend was busy with a guided fishing trip and all of our Easter plans. Nathan’s Dad took us out with Pete who he’s fished with for 20 years. Pete is a wealth of information, and it was fun to fish with him again.

We used corn for bait, which helped us catch 30+ trout.

Pete did most of the work when I would catch a fish. He kept the line clean, and would net and unhook the fish for me. I was lucky to get the chair nearest him. He pointed out animals and birds along the river bank, including an Eagle in it’s nest!

After the trip, we colored eggs with the kids. Jacob pulled his front tooth!

We spent Easter with Kristy and my family, and then we headed over to Coleen’s for an egg hunt in her basement. After all the fun, we made the 3 hour drive home, and crashed for the night. I’m looking forward to a restful week. Happy Easter!

Heather

I met Heather last month at the UofA campus for her senior pictures. She braved the wind and did everything I asked. Isn’t she crazy beautiful!

We headed down to the square for just a few more.

Congratulations Heather! You’re such a lovely girl.

aquarium adventures

Last week my mom and I took the kids to the Oklahoma Aquarium. It was incredible. We were all so impressed with everything.

I was so entranced watching the jelly fish. It was like watching a fire.

The shark “tank” was an amazing room where the tank was all around us. We walked through and felt like we were swimming with them.

We were lucky enough to be there during feeding time. This scuba volunteer educated us a little on what was in this huge wall of fish. Then we got to watch him feed them and entertain the kids. Here he is asking the kids if they can hear him scream through the 4in thick glass. (they could!)

We had so much fun here, and we plan on coming back next year.
