Last weekend, we headed to Michigan to surprise Grandpa for his 90th birthday. The house was full of his friends, family, good food and good stories. I think he was very surprised. (To see a few more pictures, check out the site and enter the password 90 in the proofing section.)
Emma found a buddy, and they played together all night. She’s only asked about him a “few” times since.
Jamie and Nathan were thrilled to have their picture taken.
I love this picture Rachel took while Grandpa was opening his gift.
Happy 90th Grandpa! We were so thrilled to get to be there with you. We love you so much!!!!!
Things are settling down from these last few weeks of craziness. First there was a strange and unexpected snow that led to Nathan totaling my car. Thankfully he was okay, but not having a car for a couple of weeks was harder than I thought! Of course, then there was the ice storm which put us out of school for a week and without power for a few days. We survived with the help of good neighbors and lots of board games. The puppy is still chewing up everything he can get his little teeth on. Which results in finding our shoes all over the house unless we remember to put them up. A problem we recently discovered though is that with his long little body, he is able to stretch himself like a bridge from the couch to the coffee table to get whatever we are hiding from him. He does seem to be figuring out the training though so I can’t complain too much. The kids are doing well and are ready for their Valentine’s parties on Friday.
These were the icicles the kids were in awe of while we were visiting Michigan for our Grandpa’s 90th birthday. (more photos to come)
We’ve had a fun and crazy last few weeks, but now we’re ready for life to get back to normal!
