A family session.

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with Amy and her lovely family.

She was so inventive when it came to our location. I can’t wait for you to see her brother, Ethan’s, senior pictures coming soon!

Amy, you and your family are beautiful, and these kiddos are so great! I can’t wait to work with you this weekend!

My Terrific Kids

Well, we all know that I think my kids are terrific, but it turns out, that so does someone else! Emma was September’s pick from her class as the Kiwana’s Terrific Kid. This is an award Jacob received late last year. He was so proud of her during the ceremony where she got her certificate and goodies in front of the whole school.

After such an important day, we headed to the park for a picnic.

We try to document each of our picnics in this journal Nathan got me when we were dating. The kids love reading about our past picnics even if they are recent ones. It’s become a nice tradition.

Audrie

A couple of weeks ago, I got to babysit my favorite 8 month old. She should definitely take up modeling.

Jamie and Rachel, I’ll babysit Audrie anytime she’s feeling ready for her close-up.

cousin-ly love

Last weekend we finally had our long-awaited girls night in. My cousins came for a weekend of yard sales,  antique shopping and a lot of food. We showed off our mad wii and taboo skills and shared a nice bottle of wine that Angie brought as a hostess gift. I can’t wait to do it again!

cookies

Before fall even began, a cold snap brought out the baking urges in our house. We’ve made plenty of cookies and brownies. This is the first time I’ve noticed that the kids helping me bake, is actually helpful! Usually it’s a lot of fun but a lot more work to let them help. They’re growing up now, and I’m definitely going to take advantage of their helping hands.

Autumn.

Autumn is a senior at Harrison who blew me away with her creativity.
I met this beautiful girl and her mom a couple weeks back and hopped in the car for a curvy ride to one of her favorite places.
Autumn is into photography and all things artistic… can’t you tell?

Jennifer and Autumn, your great sense of style and body language made my job a lot easier. Good luck with your creative path in life!

Whitley

Meet Whitley. This beautiful girl is in her senior year at Omaha, and she rocked my socks off with her amazing-ness. She braved a creepy basement and a lot of wet grass to get these. I could’ve taken 500 more photos, but there just wasn’t time that day.

Whitley, you are an amazingly beautiful girl. Good luck this year!

new blog

My blog has found a new home. This should be an easy move, but if you use bloglines or other feed readers, please update your links.

another sweet belly….

A few weekends ago, I met Trent and his wife at their home for some maternity pictures. They are such a lovely couple who are sure to have a lovely baby. Candace was glowing and beautiful in every way!

Trent and Candace, you are both wonderful, and I can’t wait to meet your baby!

oh girls

After a weekend with some of my family (all girls which I’ll post about later.) I thought I needed to give an update on all things girly:
A few weeks ago Emma got her ears pierced!!!! I know there are just two little shiny flowers on her ears, but she looks so much bigger to me. She has been taking such great care of the new earrings, and I’m so proud of her. This is like a right of passage for Emma in her girlhood….

Since school has started, I’ve lost some of my lunch buddies to their careers. Erin was nice enough to meet up with me on her only free lunch hour per week. We ate some good veggie sandwiches!

And I got to spend a few days with another one of my favorite girls, Audrie, last week. I forgot how hard it is to do things with one arm. My respect was renewed for all you moms with little ones. I miss her already…

On Saturday, I photographed a wedding with my second shooter, Rachel…who is also a girl…..
In other girly news, my friend Michelle had her sweet baby girl, Gracie Jane. She’s so lovely, I can hardly stand it. And you may think I’m crazy, but Gracie will laugh and smile if you try hard enough. It’s not just gas I promise!
